Tony had to go to Houston on business again, so we of course invited ourselves along. Just so much to do in the big city, and we did the same thing we did last time, the zoo and the beach. It really is a great zoo, so many animals and very pretty. We then talked Tony into taking off work the next day since we were SO CLOSE to the beach, went to Target and got some tooth brushes, rented a hotel room and we were set! This girl has decided that I would much rather be 3 hours from the beach than skiing any day!

McKinney Falls State Park
7 homeschooled boys, 7 and under...WATCH OUT HERE WE COME!!
We had such a great time hiking around this state park. It is right outside the city limits of Austin and has such beautiful scenery. I still can't get over how green everything is here in April. We have really been taking advantage of the beautiful weather and scenery we are finding here.

Founders Day Parade
The town near us, Dripping Springs, has a Founders Day festival every year. We were in the parade with our neighborhood and the theme for the float was "Home Town Heroes". The kids were supposed to dress up in a sport they were in, or something they wanted to be when they grew up. Joey wore his baseball uniform, Alex also wore a baseball outfit, and Eli was a cowboy as this is what he wants to be when he grows up! We had a lot of fun. They have a fair with rides and different kinds of cooking competitions.
